Desai wins the August BMW RIVOLI Dubai Golf 2012 Medal at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club

Members from both Emirates Golf Club and Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club competed together in the recent BMW-Rivoli Dubai Golf Medal for August. Once all the cards were handed in, it was Creek member Mitesh Desai who prevailed with a tremendous net 67. Andrew Robinson from EGC took home the spoils for winning Gents Division A with a net 71, and the runners-up position in this category went to Gary Chapman who finished a single stroke further back.

Ashok Ahuja secured a comfortable win in Gents Division B, his net 70 was six strokes better than his nearest challenger George Varghese, who came in with a net return of 76.

Young Shloka Desai triumphed in the Ladies category with her excellent score of net 70, a very nice way for Shloka to end her seasonal holiday in Dubai before she returns to her studies in the US.

Pontus Fredriksson showed that he still has a game to reckon with after playing much less golf over the last year due to family commitments by winning the prize for the Best gross score of the day, and the always improving and extremely impressive Rayhaan Thomas was unfortunate not to walk away with a prize after returning a level par gross 71 from the slightly forward, white tees.
