Dave Hick Wins The Final EGF Summer Event at Al Badia Golf Club
83 Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) Members took to the course on September 12, 2014 at Al Badia Golf Club by InterContinental Dubai Festival City to take part in EGF Medal.
Dave Hick came in first place after shooting a, 68 net score on his home course.
Al Badia Golf Club by InterContinental Dubai Festival City is an 18-hole, championship golf course designed by the renowned golf architect Robert Trent Jones III. Playing a par-72, the championship course features water on 12 of its 18 holes. Hosting the European Challenge Tour Grand Final on November 5-8, 2014, EGF Members got a first hand experience of what Challenge Tour players will be facing.
Having a fantastic round on a challenging golf course, Dave Hick, a member at Al Badia Golf Club claimed the first place prize. Hick played off a course handicap of 15, shooting a net score of 68, 4-under. Hick had a total of six net birdies and five net pars.
Kieran O’Connor came in second place. O’Connor was playing off a course handicap of 11, and shot a net score of 70, 2-under. Collecting six net birdies, eight net pars, and carding nothing-higher four net bogies, O’Connor was on the top of the leaderboard all day.
Taking home the third place prize on a count back was Iain Milligan. Milligan is also a member of Al Badia Golf Club. Milligan played off a course handicap of 16, carding one net eagle, two net birds, and 12 net pars, for a net score of 72, even par.
There was also on course competitions that were up for grabs during the event sponsored by Jaermann & Stübi. Winning the Longest Drive Competition on Hole No. 4 was Saif Thabet representing the Emirates Golf Federation. Winning the Nearest to the Pin competition on Hole No. 11, was David McCready, also representing the Emirates Golf Federation.

The EGF Order of Merit (OOM) Season starts next month with the RAK Junior Open on October 11, 2014 at Al Hamra Golf Club. Following the first junior event The Montgomerie Dubai will host the first Men’s OOM event, the TMD Men’s Open on October 17-18, 2014. The first Ladies’ OOM Event will take place at The Montgomerie Dubai for the TMD Ladies Open on November 7, 2014.
