Crombie and Mukherjee savour success in tough conditions at the HSBC Abu Dhabi Golf Club Championship

The 13th HSBC Club Championship at Abu Dhabi Golf Club recently saw an enthralling two days of competition at the wind and rain-battered Abu Dhabi National Course.

This year’s Championship witnessed some of the toughest playing conditions to hit the Abu Dhabi course in recent years. Playing from the Championship tees, through rain and three-club winds, Alastair Crombie managed to capture his second Club Championship title after first winning the event back in 2009, and Paromita Mukherjee clinched her first Championship title in the women’s division.

Alastair carded two steady scores of 79 and 75 to defeat the first round leader and 2012 Club Champion Bilal Belaid. In the tough conditions, Alastair came from 10 shots behind Bilal after day one to win by an impressive four shots.

Paromita, who only joined Abu Dhabi Golf Club in early September 2012, posted impressive rounds of 86 and 89 to win the title by five shots in front of the Lady Captain Muriel Gosselin.

The winner in the Men’s Nett A Division was Chris Rossmeisl, whilst Inki Kim took first place in the Men’s Nett B Division. Debbie Betts was the winner of the Ladies Nett Division, and the only lady to break Par with net rounds of 71 and 72.
