Coral Beach Resort Midweek Stableford at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club

The Coral Beach Resort Midweek Stableford was once again played at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club on Monday 4th July. Numbers of entries in the 6.30 shotgun start were  outstanding, 39 golfers signed up for the regular event, which beats the previous record by over 5 golfers.

The winning position was a tight run affair with two golfers both tying level on 21 points over the 9 holes. However Mr. Peter Bauer took the glory with his better last 6 holes in a countback. Mr. Bauer finished impressively with a birdie 2 at the par 3 8th hole, which netted him 4 stableford points. Just losing out on the countback was Alphonse Fernandes, who carded a very steady round with only a 1 pointer at the first to dampen his score.
Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club Korean member J.S Park took 3rd spot just one point behind on 20 points. With so many golfers in the competition the decision was made to further increase the prize positions, so 4th place was awarded to Mr. A Inam who scored 19 points, narrowly beating the excellent Korean golfer T.H Cho on a countback, Mr. Cho who plays of a handicap of 3 had to settle for 5th place on the evening.

All golfers take away a certain amount of pro shop credit, but thanks to the continual support from Coral Beach Resorts, the winning position and 2nd place are entitled to a Friday brunch at Al Bahar restaurant and a meal voucher in Al Dente restaurant respectively.

Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club would also like to thank all the members and guests for their support; numbers has been growing rapidly over the last few months, which really adds to the whole event.
