Comeback King Craig in Al Hamra Golf Club February Monthly Medal

Craig McGuire made it a brace of Medal’s in February with a solid 77 to make it two wins out of two.

After being level par after 7 holes following two birdies and a double bogey Craig then unfortunately dropped four shots over the next four holes followed by a further bogey on 17 for his final score of 5 over. This score was however enough to beat runner-up Jake Maki-Petaja by four shots as he posted an 82 after getting off to an horrendous start dropping 8 shots on the front nine including a 9 at the 8th. He does however still remain firmly on top of the Gross Order of Merit standings, 250 points ahead of Mohammed Darwish in second. Claiming the final Gross prize on the day with an 84 was Rita Engelbrecht who just squeezed passed Oscar Lindh in a card play-off.

    In the Net Division Paula Svensson annihilated the rest of the field with a great 4 under par score of 68. With 2 net birdies and a net eagle on the front nine Paula got off to a rocketing start to her round with a halfway score of 33. She then carded another quad of birdies on the back nine although did slip up with bogies on holes 10, 14 & 16 for a follow-up nine hole score of 35. This was enough to beat runner-up prize winner Ma Li Min by four shots as she finished with a level par round of 72 after beating Juho Halinen in a card play-off with his identical round of 72. The rollover two’s pot on the day was split between Tony Cashman and Oscar Lindh.
