Burrow wins in the penultimate TNT Trophy at Arabian Ranches Golf Club

Max Burrow shot a Gross 68 to win the TNT Trophy qualifier held at Arabian Ranches Golf Club on Friday, 21st September. The leading 12 players from the event qualified for the Final at Yas Links on 5th October where the top three will win a place in the Pro-Am of the DP World Golf Championships.

The format was Individual Stableford with players receiving ¾ of the course handicap as the allowance.
Burrow’s round began on hole 2 in the shotgun start, he made his intentions clear by recording 2 birdies during his opening 3 holes to get him off to the perfect start. He managed to keep his momentum going and closed out his outward nine holes with a gross 33 and 21 Stableford points.

He found it slightly tougher on the back nine especially with rival Gary Swan matching the Champion shot for shot, Swan also recorded 21 points on the front nine to set up a great contest. Swan and Burrow both closed out the inward nine with 18 points for a total of 39. Burrow’s got the win by virtue of a count back over the last six holes with the difference coming at the 15th hole where Swan only scored 1 point.

Francois Wolfaardt of Arabian Ranches Golf Club, commented at the prize presentation, “It was great to see on such a jam packed weekend, we had 93 players competing in the event, there was great excitement as the scores came in to determine the 12 qualifiers. Our thanks go to TNT for another great Tournament and best of luck to everyone competing in the final.”

Bryan Moulds, Managing Director for TNT Express in the Middle East added: “The TNT Trophy series has been one of the best corporately supported series of its kind in the Middle East with BWM, Taylormade, 7 days, Performance You, Crystal Gallery, Worldwide Golf and UAE golf online as co-sponsors. The simplicity of the title, linked to an achievement of “winning the trophy”, is indeed infectious.”
