Last weekend saw the annual Back to Black Men’s Open take place at Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, Titliest & Prosports International were the sponsors for this event. In this event the tees are all moved right to the tips and even further back onto neighboring holes to really stretch the course. Despite the course playing extremely long scoring was excellent on the day with scratch team members taking control.
Despite making the turn in plus five, Max Burrow had a miraculous back nine which included a 2 on the challenging 17th which resulted in a final score of 73 (+2). This score was matched by plus figure golfer Mike McGinley but due to Burrow’s superior back nine of minus three he claimed the win and was titled Men’s Back to Black Open Champion 2019 with McGinley finishing in second. Tejan Fadlu-Deen finished in 3rd position after his round of 76 (+5). In the Net category there was a runaway winner with Dubai Creek Member Rebydas Nair shooting an incredible 63 (-8) to win the division by eight stroke! Nair had the round of his life and finished with a gross 81 off a handicap of 18. Mike Estafanous came runner up with his score of 71 and Bilal Belaid finished in 3rd after his 73 (+2). There were also two on course prizes on the 8th and 14th holes where Mike McGinley & Tejan Fadlu-Deen claimed the nearest the pin.
After the prize presentation, Dubai Creek’s Golf Services Manager, Michael Major commented; “A huge thank you to you all for attending today’s event, some very good scores on a very tough golf course!”
