Brown and Khiabani make it to the grand finals of the Carpetland Monthly Open April 2011 at the Creek
Rowley Brown and Afshin Khiabani won the Carpetland Monthly Open held at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club on Saturday 9th April.
Brown and Khiabani gelled to a better ball stableford score of 43 points to win by virtue of the better back nine from junior duo Mikhail Pinto and Punya Khanna. In third place and claiming the last spot to the grand finals with 41 points was Finn Theilgaard and Philip Westphal.
The 2010/2011 qualifying has concluded and all the 72 finalists will gather on Saturday 14th May to see which pair will be crowned Carpetland Monthly Open Grand Final Champions.
Diya Chopra won nearest the pin on the 14th hole with a great iron shot to seven feet. Vannesa North-Panting won the longest drive for the day on the 3rd hole out driving the men. The lucky and very surprised raffle winner of the sought after Carpetland Rug was Raji Puri after Robert Platt donating the rug back to the charity raffle. The second charity raffle rug of the evening that rose over DHS 1600 towards charity was eventually won by Teejan Fadlu-Deen after being donated back by the host Shahriar Khodjasteh.
