BMW-Rivoli May Monthly Medal Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club

Saturday May 5th saw the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club host the fifth BMW-Rivoli monthly medal of the season, with over 80 golfers participating in this ever popular event. Hard and fast greens and hot summer conditions would set a testing challenge for all competitors.

Enduring the heat and the competition and winning the May BMW-Rivoli Monthly Medal was Joy Lirio with a fantastic net score of 68.  Upon receiving her Rivoli prize Lirio commented “I knew I needed a good performance to keep my position on the Order of Merit, but it was a good day for me when all parts of my game came together.   With the course in such fantastic condition for this time of year, it is a pleasure to be able to play at the Creek right now.”

Also making it into the winner’s circle on the day was Alok Pant who shot a net 73 to take the men’s division A title and Madhav Nair who scored a superb net 69 to top division B.   Dubai Creek Ladies Vice-Captain Maureen Platt put in a great performance on the day with a net 70 to win the ladies section and keeping his fine run of form was young Rishi Nair who won the junior division with an outstanding net 65.  In the battle for the lowest gross performer of the day it was Miki Mirza who came through beating John Fellingham on the count-back.  

Head Professional at the Dubai Creek, Stephen Hubner commented, “It’s great to see yet another successful monthly medal and some fantastic scores.  I would like to thank our sponsors BMW and Rivoli for their continued support in making this monthly event such a success”.

The next Dubai Creek BMW-Rivoli medal will take place on Saturday 2nd June.
