BMW-Rivoli January Medal at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club

The BMW-Rivoli January Monthly Medal was played today at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club with over eighty members enjoying the beautiful course condition in testing windy conditions.

This was only the second monthly medal under new co-sponsor Rivoli.  Head Golf Professional at Dubai Creek Stephen Hubner commented: “It is wonderful to have Rivoli join BMW as co-sponsor of the monthly medals at both Dubai Creek and Emirates.  It has allowed us to reduce the entry fee and offer better prizes to winners adding a great deal more value for our members.”

Winning the opening BMW-Rivoli Medal of the season with a net score of one-under par 70 was Indian golfer Ashok Ahuja.  For his efforts Ashok received the beautiful BMW-Rivoli trophy and AED 1,000 worth of gift vouchers for Rivoli stores.  Ahuja was a double winner on the day as he also managed to guess the distance of the opening tee shot of new club captain Ara Nakhnikian which went 261 yards.

The lowest score of the day actually came in the junior category and was made by 11 year-old Rishi Nair who played some lovely golf to produce a round of 90 for a net score of two under par 69.  Winning the ladies division was young Henna Jodha with a net 72.  Henna who has just returned to the club was delighted to win her first event and even more happy to see her father Ishwar winning the first prize for Men’s Division A with a score of net 71.   The winner of Men’s Division B was Haridas Kondath with a score of 71.  Dubai Creek club champion and recent Men’s Amateur Open champion Miki Mirza won the gross prize with a score of 74, a good effort in the strong wind.
