BMW Members and Guests Social at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club
The BMW sponsored Members and Guests Social returned to Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club on Saturday 15th July. The two formats contested were BetterBall Stableford & Shambles Betterball Stableford.
In sweltering conditions and high winds the partnership of Parvez Ahmed and Abdul Moiz Khan swept away to a 2 shot victory on the first 9’s betterball with 28 points. The pair were an amazing 10 under for the 9 holes they played. The back 9 shambles format prize went to husband and wife pairing of Golden Kim and Normita Demesa who bagged 25 points to win by 1 point.
The competitions also has its standard nearest the pin and longest drive awards, the nearest the pin on Sharjah’s 17th hole went again to Parvez Ahmed who knocked it to approximately 10 foot from the 140 yard par 3. The longest drive which was played from the 7th tee box, with a gailing wind into the face was won by Juan Prinsloo who knocked the ball close to 280 yards down the centre of the fairway.
