BMW AGMC 2013 USPGA Members & Guests Event at Jumeirah Golf Estates Fire

Team atmosphere was widespread throughout the day of this Augusts Members & Guests event sponsored by BMW AGMC.

A Texas scramble format created great excitement on every hole which was witnessed throughout the field. By the end of play, six teams had managed to break the net 60 barrier and all were in with a chance of winning by a shot or two.

Taking third place by 0.1 of a shot was the quartet of Raymond Beard, Hudson Fountain, Andrew Rotteveel and Neil Brown who combined brilliantly on the final hole with an eagle three that managed to squeeze the team onto the podium and jump into the prizes after signing for a net 58.6. Fractions made the difference in this tournament and 0.3 of a shot better, taking the runners up position was JGE members, Colin McDonald, James McGlynn, Roy Curlsey and Robert Varty. Evidence of four players that enjoyed this type of format was shown in their team scorecard that contained two 2’s and seven 3’s. A gross 63 minus their team handicap, a final score of net 58.3 was a very fine effort indeed. On the conclusion of play the total to beat was set by the foursome of Mike Cowley, Dave Mundell, David Haswell and Jason James. A single blemish on the card came on the thirteenth of a bogey 6 however recording fours, threes and twos thereafter had the team sign for a gross 63 minus their team handicap, a net 57.7. A jubilant team celebrated in style and gracefully received their BMW AGMC USPGA trophies, congratulations gents.
