Blincow and Perrins ease to Victory at Jebel Ali International Pairs

The 14th Qualifier in the 2010-11 Tech Access International Pairs UAE Presented by Cadillac saw a comfortable victory for Charles Blincow and Kevin Perrins as members of the Emirates Golf Federation took to the picturesque Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa course on Thursday 28th April. 21 pairs started the day with the goal of winning a place in the inaugural International Pairs UAE National Final in May.

Typically breezy conditions ensured that scoring was never going to high and 38 points set the tone and led for some time until late finishers Blincow and Perrins came in with an excellent 40-point total. Playing the 9-hole course twice, the winners were steady throughout as they recorded eight net birdies to offset four net bogeys for a comfortable win and a berth in the Final, to be played at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club.

A countback was required to separate the next two teams as Grant McNair and Michael Johnson only scored 17 on the inward nine, which, perhaps surprisingly was more more than third placed pairing of Riette Cuciurean and Katy Woodman, who came close to being the first all-lady team to win an International Pairs Qualifier.

There were Nearest-the-Pin prizes on both the short 2nd and 8th holes where Robbie Greenfield and Brad Vercoe prevailed.

This was the fourteenth Qualifying event in the 2010-11 Tech Access International Pairs UAE Presented by Cadillac. Charles Blincow and Kevin Perrins join representatives from Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Abu Dhabi City Golf Club, Abu Dhabi Golf Club, The Montgomerie Dubai, Al Ghazal Golf Club, Jumeirah Golf Estates, The Els Club, Emirates Golf Club, Sharjah Wanderers Golf Club, Yas Links, Al Hamra Golf Cub, Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club and Tower Links Golf Club whose names are already in the National Final draw. The next Qualifying event is on 29th April when International Pairs UAE pays its final qualifying event in Dubai when members of Dubai Creek will have the opportunity to be involved in the only Club Members’ international event in the UAE. International Pairs UAE is sponsored by Tech Access, Cadillac, Diamond Developers, Emirates Healthcare Ltd. and partnered by Park Hyatt Dubai, Delwood, Nike Golf, Sport 360, Worldwide Golf and UAE Golf Online.
