Bin Desmal and Al Shamsi win inaugural Emirati Cup

In a fiercely competitive field and with 44 points, Ahmed Bin Desmal and Nasser Al Shamsi were crowned the winners of the Emirati Cup and have now secured a place in the Corporate Masters World Final which takes place on December 12th 2011 at Abu Dhabi Golf Club.  Closely followed, and in second place with 43 points, were Tariq Al Suwaidi and his partner Craig Bruce. Bin Desmal and Al Shamsi won an original hickory putter from the St Andrews Golf Company whose putter head was crafted using metal from the QE2, which was generously offered by law firm White & Case as the Trophy.
 
The prestigious Emirati Cup is a new fixture to the 2011 Corporate Masters series and each team comprised of at least one Emirati National. Also in attendance was HE Sheikh Fahim Al Qassimi, Chairman of the UAE Golf Association, along with his partner, Doug Peel, Managing Partner from White & Case.

Participants includes Adel Zarouni from Rivoli, Darwish Al Qubaisi from Esnaad, Omar Al Askari from UTS, Walid Al Attar from Dubal – and many other leading Emirati business figures who all received exclusive Emirati Cup golf shirts, designed by leading Italian fashion house Brioni.
 
More than 15,000 golfers have participated in Corporate Masters events since its inception in 2000 including world-leading CEO and senior executives. The 2011 event has been held in Abu Dhabi, Doha, Dubai, London, Mumbai, Toronto and 14 other business centres worldwide.
