Bennett & Doyles – Rivoli Monthly Medal Champions

Steve Bennett (3) returned a gross two over par 74 to win the July Rivoli Monthly Medal supported by Ecco played at ARGC on Friday, 6th August. Bennett swept aside the competition with a brilliant performance in perfect summer conditions.

Bennett a regular competitor in the Monthly Medal managed to defeat a strong field packed with single figure golfers capable of shooting low scores. The Champion had consistent 9’s of 38 and 36 and won by  virtue of a count back over Hayden Parker who recently joined the club as a Junior member posting his first Strokeplay round with 9’s of 37 and 37.
 
Bennett commented after his round ‘We appreciate the support from Rivoli making this the premier event for the members to compete in every month. The front nine was tricky but I managed to keep the bogeys off the card and limit the damage to a 38.”

The division “A” Net title belonged to Hayden Parker (5) who posted a brilliant Net 69 edging out Kevin Barrett by one shot.

 
 In division “B” Frank Doyle (15) posted a brilliant Net 70 edging out Nigel Fenwick by three shots.

In the Ladies division, Louise Doyle (17) posted a brilliant Gross 87 to win her first Rivoli Gross title edging out Sheila Alban by two shots.Lady Captain, Fortuna Dougherty (18) posted Net 74 just enough to take the Net title.
