Back to Back Success for Green in Majlis BMW Medal

Tom Green clinched successive BMW Medal victories in the gross category following a superb 74 over the Majlis course. Tom who will be commencing his studies at Birmingham University at the end of the month leaves Dubai on fine form.

Following his success his handicap has been reduced from 2.5 in February to plus 1.9.
Tom started his round on the 11th hole and found himself at one-under par at the turn following a birdie three at the 332-yard 17th hole. Four dropped shots on the front nine, coming at the 2nd, 5th, 6th and 9th holes hurt his challenge but a closing birdie on the par five 10th resulted in a gross 74 nett 76.
Ivan Fornazaric produced a superb nett 69 in Division A (handicap 0-12) to clinch top prize by three strokes from Jamal Saab, the highlight of his round was a birdie three at the short par 4 second. Dalip Tripathi claimed third place following a nett 74.

Joseph Barber impressed in his BMW Majlis Golf course medal debut with a fantastic nett 64 to triumph in Division B (handicap 13-23). A hugely consistent round was the key to his success with seven bogeys, ten pars and a solitary birdie on the 540-yard 13th hole. Jon Sargeant took runners-up place with a 68 and Gokul Mani third following a 73.

Steinar Bratland clinched Division C (handicap 24-34) with a nett 70, two clear of Jan Hooftman.
The top 15 players from Division A and Division B qualify for the Singles Matchplay Championship which will get underway in November with Johnny Aldridge the defending Champion.
