Armstrong and Holmans win 1st Officeland Open

The first Officeland Monthly Open by Al Aqili Furnishings was held on May 21, 2010 at the Al Badia Golf Club by InterContinental Dubai Festival City. Following a two player team betterball stableford format, teams braved off the heat to play a challenging round.

Taking the third place spot was the team of Steven Vanson and Anders Lovbrand, with their fairly steady round finishing at 43 points. With one point better than the third placers, came the team of John Allen and Michael Smith who provided a solid performance, capitalizing on their shots in making par on most holes. Brett Armstrong and Mark Holmans started at a slow pace but eventually scored gross birdies on 6 holes finishing with a total score of 47 points, resulting to their victory for this match.

Special on course performances of the day were Steve Fidler winning nearest the pin in hole 7 and Jan Vandrey winning the longest drive on hole 17.
The event concluded with a fine feast at the Shaheen terrace to celebrate players’ victory, with the Group Marketing Director of Al Aqili Furnishings, Shahriar Khodjasteh giving a special remark for a successful first Officeland Monthly Open. He is confident that the upcoming Officeland Tournaments will be as successful as the first.
