Armstrong and Guest are the Best Pair in Al Badia Golf Club Texas Scramble
Australian duo John Guest and Brett Armstrong were the winners of the Al Badia Pairs Texas Scramble tournament held 13th August 2011. Guest and Armstrong shot an amazing gross score of 66, with a net score of 61.75, which includes seven birdies.
Their only blemish came at the par four 17th hole where they made a bogey 5. It was a great day for Armstrong and Guest as they also scooped the novelty holes. Armstrong hit a monster drive of 300 yards plus on hole 12 to win the longest drive competition, Guest hit a fabulous tee shot to 2 feet on hole 7, which in fact was the last shot of the day on this particular hole to win the nearest pin competition. These great players commented on the condition of the course, especially the greens which were noticeably better than in the past few months.
The next pair that had success on the greens was Adel Hamdan and Samer El with a net score of 62.5, which included 3 birdies and a fantastic gross score of 73 playing of 20 and 26 handicaps respectively.
In tough playing conditions with the temperature reaching 42 by mid afternoon, Jan Vandry and Les Reis came in third place with a net score of 65.25.
