Arabian Ranches Golf Club beat Emirates Golf Club to progress to the UAE Invitational Scratch Golf League final

Arabian Ranches Golf Club beat Emirates Golf Club to progress to the final to play Yas Links, Abu Dhabi in the 2011 – 2012 UAE Invitational Scratch Golf League.

Arabian Ranches Golf Club beat Emirates Golf Club in the second semi-final of the 2011 – 2012 UAE Invitational Scratch Golf League played at Al Badia Golf Club, Dubai to play Yas Links, Abu Dhabi in the final.
The four match contest resulted in a 2 – 2 tie. As per the format two players from each side were nominated for the sudden-death play-off with Arabian Ranches players Gary Swan and Max Burrows defeating the Emirates Golf Club pairing of Robert Watts and Connor Keegan at the first play-off hole.

Bob Driver, League Co-ordinator said at the result announcement, ‘We congratulate both Arabian Ranches Golf Club and Yas Links, Abu Dhabi on qualifying for the Final. The event began way back in October 2011 with 12 original teams participating in 4 separate leagues of 3 teams per division. Both teams have played 4 league matches plus an additional two knock-out matches to reach the final. This is the end of the four year winning sequence for Emirates Golf Club, Arabian Ranches being the only other team League champions having won the inaugural Invitational Scratch Golf League in 2006 – 07. We look forward to the final match and will publish the dates and venue shortly.’

Max Burrows & Charlie Simpson beat Ed Hesson & Kouroche Achtari 2 & 1.
Eddie Ramage & Doug McLennan lost to Robert Watts & Connor Keegan 3 & 1.
Gary Swan & Steve Bennett lost to Johnny Aldridge & Charlie Stricklin 2 & 1.
Play-off – Gary Swan & Max Burrows beat Robert Watts & Connor Keegan 1st Extra Hole.
