Andrew becomes prince for the day and claims the inaugural UAE Golf Online Sateeday Stableford throne

It was a historic day in Dubai for the first UAE Golf Online Sateeday Stableford event held at the Jebel Ali Golf Resort.

A full allocated field turned out to battle the challenging Peter Harradine designed course hoping to claim the title and add their name to the UAE Golf Online hall of fame.

Initially there were several favourites but after watching the players on the range that early prediction quickly faded as other people emerged out of the crowd in the beating Dubai sun.

The front 9 proved to be the decider as the final three who finished in the top positions all edged ahead on points in this section. Looking at the back 9 card scores only a few players actually managed to beat their front 9 scores highlighting the scoring pattern on the day.

It was PT Instructor Andrew Dick who eventually took the day with an impressive 43 points (25,18) using his knowledge of the course to carve out a decisive win. Andy is a regular at Jebel Ali and this performance definitely highlighted that. It was not only his course awareness though, Andy played some solid golf throughout the day and scored points on 16 out of the 18 holes including 3 birdies helping to cement his win.
Following up Andy were close pals Stephen Jackson (2nd) and Paul Ellis (3rd) who were playing in the same group together. They battled hard and eventually finished in the runners up positions with a very respectable 36 and 35 points.

Several of the players had never played the course and afterwards they were all eager to come back at the next event to see if they can not only beat their score but also catch Andy, who hopefully will come back on Sateeday, May the 4th to defend his title!!

Other prizes on the day went to Hannes Oberholzer who won nearest to the pin and second placed Stephen Jackson won longest drive to add to his war chest of prizes!!
There were also a couple of special raffle prizes on the day for everyone who entered the tournament to win. They were kindly donated by Golf Artist Mark Robinson and Jebel Ali Golf Resort. Mark kindly gave away a signed watercolour of Alvaro Quiros which was won by John Oberholzer and Thomas Fiala won the 9 hole voucher from Jebel Ali.
