Andrade and Khanna Victorious in Dubai Creek Daman Investments UAE International 2015 Pairs Qualifier
Although re-arranged at late notice, The Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club qualifier for the Daman Investments International Pairs 2105 drew an excellent field on a blustery day on the fabulous Dubai Creek golf course. The excellent condition of the course was reflected in the quality of the scoring and of the prize-winners, as ex-Captain Joseph Andrade and Tarun Khanna racked up an impressive 40 Stableford points.
Close behind in second place was another former Club Captain Abdulaziz Al Hakim with team mate and Founder Member Mohammed Al Musharrek, on 38 points, taking the runner-up spot on a countback from third-place Edoardo and Beatrice Galeppini.
The special events were, as always, closely contested, although for the seventeenth time this season, the Virgin Atlantic Hole-in-One prize of tickets to New York went unclaimed. Nearest-the-pin on hole number 8 was won by Tarun Khanna – no doubt contributing to the team’s winning score – whilst the nearest-the-pin-in-three on hole number 10 went to Tobias Parkin.
With just one qualifier to go – at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club on May 8 – the field for the 29th May UAE Final is now almost complete. Title sponsor Daman Investments’ gifts and TaylorMade’s prizes were well received and Steve Rutter of tournament organiser OnCourse Golf gave deserved praise to the participants and to the club for its excellent set up and organisation.
