Anastasia Bakal becomes the Emirates Ladies Amateur Open Champion

Anastasia Bakal from the Els Club was crowned the Emirates Ladies Amateur Open Champion after scoring a fantastic one over par 73 on the Majlis course. A She achieved her win with a fantastic outward nine holes with seven pars and birdies on the 2nd and 9th holes saw Anastasia make the turn in 33 strokes. Dropping her first shot at the par 4 12th hole which was followed by further dropped shots at the 14th and 15th holes. Anastasia managed to  compose herself to finish with three pars to win the championship by four strokes.

Her nearest competitor and runner up with a five over par 77 was Kim Chiang from the Arabian Ranches Golf Club, a further two shots adrift was Emirates Golf Club Junior Alison Muirhead who posted a gross 79 to claim third place.

It was a clean sweep for the ladies of Emirates Golf Club in the net category. Congratulations to Mariana Kyrkiris who claimed first place by three strokes with a fantastic 5 under par score of 67. Josie Tracey and Selma Kehoe were tied with scores of two under par 70. But it was the inward nine of Josie that secured second place with Selma claiming third place.
