Allen and Stanley Paired Up to Win Betterball Tournament at Al Badia Golf Club
Al Badia Golf Club recently held the Pairs Betterball Tournament participated by Al Badia members and their guests. With a favorable weather condition, the golf course setting was perfect for good scoring.
The winning pair was John Allen and Clive Stanley. Clive who was playing his first competition with his new TaylorMade irons and woods fitted in the region’s only TaylorMade Performance Lab certainly saw the benefits. The pair had an impressive net 65 to win by one shot. The pair complemented each other well with the steady John Allen making no mistakes and Clive making plenty of birdies.
Steve Kelshaw who recently signed up as a member of the Al Badia Golf Club, made his first win as a runner up on a count back along with his playing partner, Mike Groves. The pair carded a score of net 66. These two single figure golfers had 5 gross birdies and 10 gross pars between them.
The third place pair was the team of Colin Cordery and Paul Batson who only just missed out on count back with net 66 as well. Paul and Colin combined well and had a strong back nine.
Several participants made a remarkable performance by winning the special course competition. Khalid Al Halyan won the nearest the pin in hole 7 and Giles McDevitt achieved longest drive in hole 12.
