Al Marzouqi & Al Jassmy Triumphant at Al Zorah Golf Club

Results from the First UAE National Monthly Medal of the 2018 – 2019 Season

On November 10, 2018, The Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) hosted the first United Arab Emirates (UAE) National Monthly Medal of the 2018 – 2019 golf seasons at Al Zorah Golf Club. Over 40 UAE Nationals ranging from ladies, juniors and senior golfers gathered to battle the windy conditions at Al Zorah. Winning the overall event was Sohail Al Marzouqi while Rashid Al Jassmy was the proud winner the Junior Division.

Located along the coast of Ajman, Al Zorah Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course designed by Nicklaus Design. The course is arranged with flowing dunes and spectacular mangroves to give the golfers a unique UAE experience.

Sohail Al Marzouqi scrapped together a fantastic score in some challenging conditions. Al Marzouqi collected a total of 36 Stableford points while shooting a 77 gross score.

Finishing as the Runner-Up for the event was Abdulwahed Al Qasem, just one point back with a total of 35 Stableford points. Coming in Third Place was Hisham Sharif with a total of 34 Stableford points.

National Team member, Khalid Yousuf collected the Best Gross prize by shooting, 2-over-par, 74 gross score.

Awards were also given based on handicap with an A-Division (0-14 handicap) and B-Division (14-24 handicap) winners. Winning the A-Division Prize, on a countback, was Mohammed Darwish with 28 Stableford points. Hassan Al Qemzi won the Division-B prize with 31 Stableford points.

In the Junior Division, the EGF had eight juniors compete for the top three spots. Coming in first place was Rashid Al Jassmy with 35 points. Finishing in Second Place was Rashid’s brother Sultan Al Jassmy with 34 points and rounding off the top-three was Humaid Al Suwaidi with 25 points.

The event had two “On Course Challenges” up for grabs. Taking home the Longest Drive Award was Khalid Yousuf. Winning the Nearest to the Pin Award was Saleh Al Ameri.
