Al Badia Tournaments open the New Golfing Season

Al Badia Golf Club started the new golfing season in full blast by holding three consecutive member and guests tournaments — Officeland Monthly Series, Member’s Monthly Medal and Al Badia Ryder Cup Tournament on October 1, 2 and 3 respectively.

The confidence of the field was evident on all 3 tournaments. Officeland Monthly Open topnotchers were the team of Mark Adams and Iain Milligan; Jan Vandrey and Oliver Putz; Richard Oliver and MS Jhang, who respectively took the first, second and third place prizes.

Al Badia Golf Club member, Leslie Reis took the honors in the Members Monthly Medal after carding a score of nett 70 while Brett Armstrong provided an outstanding performance with his brilliant gross score of 81. A Division winner was awarded to Nawaf Fawaz finishing at nett 73 after a countback with his closest opponent, John Allen. Nick Clayson reigned in B Division edging Mark Paviour to the runner up spot.

The famous Ryder Cup was also celebrated by the Al Badia members, guests and golf professionals on October 3. Team selection was made between the team of Europe and the Rest of the World. With the solid and strong performance of The Rest of the World team, they grabbed the winner’s mantle by a 7 point lead from the opposing team.  Final scored saw team of Europe, 12 and the Rest of the World, 19. The challenging day’s play concluded at the Tee Lounge where the participant enjoyed a sumptuous snack while watching the live coverage of the Ryder Cup.
