Al Badia Golf Club Jack and Jill Tournament Wins Over Members

Al Badia Golf Club’s inaugural ‘Jack and Jill’ tournament proved to be a huge success with the members following a team stableford format with a twist.

The best two from four scores were counted with teams comprised of three Jacks and one Jill.  There was some pressure on the ladies as it was mandatory that their scores be counted on all four par 3s.
Taking top honours in the event with an astounding 93 points were Kate Evans, playing the role as ‘Jill’, and the ‘Jacks’ David Evans and Sergio Casari.

As they were short one ‘Jack’, a ghost card was pulled at random which accounted for an additional 8 points giving them the lead by 1 point.  The team carded nines of 48 and 45 racking up big points on the par 5 8th hole and par 4 14th thanks to the paired efforts of a net eagle and net birdie.

The on course events saw Zhendong Tan take the Men’s Nearest to the Pin prize in tough windy conditions managing to also capitalize on his birdie from four feet.  Teammate Antony Su captured the Men’s Longest Drive on the par 5 13th hole.  Martha Bimmel crushed a drive despite injury to win the Ladies Longest Drive on hole 8 with Carol Baldwin taking the win for the Nearest to the Pin on hole 11.
