Ajyal Golf Championship National par 3 league holds 3rd event

Players usually divided in two divisions will play in individual format at different Par 3 courses in the UAE throughout the season. However for this event a change was made for this event introducing four short game skills teats along with five Par 3 holes.

Obaid Al Heloo really proved his skills with an impressive gross 35 to pip Rashid Al Emadi by two strokes, 3rd & 4th spot tied but Reema Al Heloo sister of Obaid took 3rd place finish on a count back from Khalil Al Kashwani. Abu Dhabi’s Khaled Al Mutawa maintained his constancy with a gross 39 taking 5th position, Sharjah’s own Menza Al Shehhi took the final placing with a gross 42.

Khalid Al Shamsi Secretary General of the Federation commented “We are pleased to introduce these events for our youngsters who are on the programme already and I am sure this is going to be the beginning of many more events that will be organized in the future for our young Emiratis. With a competitive atmosphere to the game, we will soon be seeing some of these players making it to National Team levels”.

Khaild Al Shamsi who presented the prizes on behalf of Sheikha Shikha bint Diab Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed bin Diab Al Nahyan commented, “I am sure with the continued support from the Al Nahyan family and parents, the league will continue to grow bigger and better. We are also grateful to all participating clubs who help in making our league a success’’

Jason Froggatt National Junior Programme Coach thanked juniors from the first batch for assisting the new generation of golfers on the day, with their assistance on the course made the day a resounding success.
