Ahmed Albudoor and Mahmood Skaik make it 2 on the trot

Ahmed Albudoor and Mahmood Skaik continued their impressive run in the National Par-3 League when they posted back-to-back victories in their respective divisions at the Emirates Golf Club.

Playing a consistent tee-to-green golf in benign conditions, Ahmad shot a solid gross 35, winning the Division A (under-16) title well ahead of Abdulla Al Qubaisi, who signed off with a gross 38.

In Division B (under-12), the race went down to the wire before Mahmood clinched the issue with a gross 32 over six holes, beating Maryam Al Marzouqi by just one shot.

In the opening event of the League, held in September, Ahmed had carded a gross 32 while Mahmood needed to go through a countback to take the honours.

The biggest cheers of the day, however, were reserved for seven-year-old Alia Emadi, who produced the shot of the day, winning the nearest to the pin award on hole 9 with a superb strike.

It was the time the league travelled to Emirates Golf Club for an event which started in day light and ended under floodlights, adding to the lively atmosphere.
The league, presented by the Emirates Golf Federation, is aimed at honing the skills of young Emiratis who are enrolled with the National Junior Programme or members of the Development Programmes at different clubs in the UAE.

Saeed Albudoor, general manager of the Emirates Golf Federation, thanked the players for their enthusiastic participation in the event. “Once again we had a good response and that amply reflects on the growing popularity of the game among young Emiratis,” he said.
