Adina and Nicholas Cameron take home victory at Audi quattro Cup at Yas Links

For the sixth year running amateur golfers have gathered to participate in the world’s most popular tournament series for amateur golfers – the Audi quattro Cup.

Audi Abu Dhabi, represented by Ali & Sons, the official dealer for Audi in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, has hosted the Abu Dhabi leg of the Audi quattro Cup, giving local golfers a chance to progress to the World Final in Los Angeles/California.

90 golfers competed in the tournament held last week at the Yas Links golf course on Yas Island under perfect conditions with sunshine and light wind. With a score of 51 Stableford points Adina and Nicholas Cameron won ahead of Dirk Bruwer/Schalk Liebenberg (47) and Danie Skinner/Riaan Bezuidenhout (46). The nearest to the pin was claimed by Ian Harvey. Longest drive for the ladies went to Murial Gosselin, longest drive for the men to Stephen Flanganan. The winning team – Adina and Nicholas Cameron – will now go on to compete against the winners of the Dubai tournament, before the two overall UAE winners are sent to the world renowned Trump National Golf Course in Los Angeles/California for the World Final.

Mark Austin, Acting General Manager of Audi Abu Dhabi: “Congratulations to the winners Adina and Nicholas. Overall, the Audi quattro Cup is a great opportunity for Audi fans to get together and enjoy a sport that’s as much about precision as our cars.”

The Audi quattro Cup tournament series was established in 1991. At the invitation of regional Audi partners, qualification tournaments are held as “foursomes with selected drive” for teams of two players each. In 2012 Audi dealers from 52 different countries worldwide organized a total of 808 tournaments and over 95,000 amateur golfers participated. Over 1.3 million golfers took part in one of the Audi quattro Cup tournaments during the last 22 years.
