ADAC Tees Up for ‘The 2011 Airport Cup’ Golf Tournament at Al Ghazal Golf Club
The first round of the 2011 Airport Cup sponsored by Abu Dhabi Airport Company teed off at 1.15pm on Friday 21st to a record number of entries. The event is one of the longest running 2 day events in the history of Al Ghazal Golf Club as well as being a very popular event amongst its members and ADAC guests.
Anina Bester and Ramesh the 2010 ADAC Airport Cup Champions booked their seats for the 2011 event and are hopeful to defend their titles. However, there are several contenders one of which is a Farther and Son duo of John and Calum Mills who no doubt will be eyeing the coveted trophy at the end of two days!
After the completion of the first round both Anina and Ramesh were unable to emulate their 2010 first round scores. The 2011 contenders for the men’s division were John Mills and Alan Dickman on 38 and 37 points respectively with the ladies leaders being Ming Brown and Chaya Kinder on 31 and 29 points.
The weather played an important part in the afternoon with blustery conditions causing some difficulty for the players.
