Abu Dhabi Golf Club Pink Lady Golf Day raises AED 61280 for the Cancer Research UK charity Join the Fight

The Pink Lady Golf Day event held at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club on October 23rd raised AED 61,280 for the Cancer Research UK charity Join the Fight, a significant increase of AED 38,530 from last year’s event. 88 women from the community including friends and supporters gathered to participate in the charity event to help raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.

The Royal Wedding theme sparked the participants’ imaginations as they dressed to amuse in their pink outfits, from brides to the royal family, they dazzled in their creative costumes. Off to a great start, the event began at 12.30pm in sunny conditions, and was concluded by a much deserved dinner in the Falcon clubhouse. First place in the golf tournament went to ‘The Firm’ which included Fiona Berry, Gunda Lampe-Scneider, Denis Heyward and Marion McGirr. The Best Dressed award was given to the team of Alyson Jackson, Marie O'Conner, Wilma Curley and Jane Lee of ‘The Union Jacks’ who cut the delicious four tiered wedding cake and the Most Amusing team award went to ‘The Royal Hens’ comprising Debbie Betts, Carolyn Milford, Susie Linakar and Trisha Stubbs.

“The fundraising initiative was extremely well received and we are truly blessed for the generosity of the community. We thank all our sponsors, participants and Abu Dhabi Golf Club for their support and the dedication  which made this event such a success, “says Michelle Larter, Event Organiser.

Michelle Larter would also like to express her gratitude to the valued support she received from Tony Martin and Mike Larter in obtaining sponsorship and helping to organize the event.
