About the Mena Golf Tour

The inaugural MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Golf Tour is an initiative by the Shaikh Maktoum Golf Foundation with support from the Arab Golf Federation and the R&A.

The MENA Golf Tour is aimed at the best national MENA Golfers, both amateur and professional with other players eligible from outside the region allowed to also join the tour.

The MENA Golf Tour is a series of golf tournaments to be played within the MENA countries, with the first year starting in the UAE.
The creation of the MENA Golf Tour opens a new window of opportunity for all MENA National professionals and amateurs in being able to develop their golfing skills alongside international players on home soil around the gulf.

The MENA Golf Tour is open to all MENA National and International Professional and Amateur Golfers. Amateur golfers must have a handicap of 1 and below on joining the tour and at the start of each tournament.

Each tournament will be a 72 holes stroke play event. Players will play one round on each of the first two days, after which the leading 65 and tied professionals/amateurs will go forward to the third & fourth round.
The standard starting field for a tournament will be 109 players consisting of 60% Professionals & 40% Amateurs. The Official season will be January – December. Culminating in the Tour Championship finale at a chosen Golf Course.

There will be a separate Order of Merits for Professionals and Amateurs and each tournament will receive official R&A recognition and carry World Amateur ranking points.

Each tournament will carry a minimum prize fund of $50,000 for professionals. The top 3 Professionals & leading amateur from their respective OOM will receive invitations to the Omega Dubai Desert Classic which is also run by Golf in Dubai

The MENA Golf Tour id fully affiliated with the R&A and the Arab Golf Federation.
