A Great Start for 2012 at the Al Badia Golf Club with the Al Badia Trophy

Al Badia Golf Club started 2012 with the ‘Al Badia Trophy’. This is one of the Club’s main members event of the year with the winning team having their names engraved on the beautiful trophy and the honors boards in the clubs honors passage.

Following  texas scramble format and with over 60 entries it was a fiercely competitive day.  The eventual winner of the famous ‘Ship’ Trophy was the team of Lynn and John Cimino, Anthony Taylor and Nawaf Fawaz with a net score of 58.3. The team was -9 under gross which included 9 birdies with 6 back to back, which gave them a gross 30 on the inward 9.

The runners up on the day with a score of 58.6 were Tina Bogale, Clive Stanley, Russell and Martin Launder. The team had a great back nine of 28 which had 6 birdies and an eagle on the 18th Hole. However the team could not produce the same on the front nine managing only 1 birdie.

The team of Kieran & Jaqui O’Connor, Mike Groves and Stewart Adams settled in the third place with 58.7.
After the game finished, all the players enjoyed a beautiful buffet dinner and prize presentation with celebrations continuing long after in Spikes.
