50 days to go until the 2015 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters tees off in Doha

Today, Tuesday 2 December, marks 50 days to go until the start of the 2015 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, one of the most anticipated events on the Qatari sporting calendar.

Staged at Doha Golf Club, the 18th edition of the tournament will tee off on Wednesday 21 January until Saturday 24 January, and promises thousands of spectators a weekend packed with star-studded action and family entertainment as Sergio Garcia returns to defend his title.
The event, which sits at the heart of The European Tour’s three-week Middle East swing, is organised by the Qatar Golf Association (QGA), the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), Doha Golf Club and Commercial Bank of Qatar.

Much more than just four days of international golf action, a Family Zone will allow kids of all ages to try out a range of sports including mini basketball, mini tennis, mini golf and mini soccer alongside gourmet food offerings for the parents. The ever-popular Golf Trick Shot Boys will return to entertain kids and adults alike with their action-packed daily golf show and the Shopping Boulevard is a brand new addition to the event. With a wide selection of accessories, apparel and other exhibitions, the boulevard will be a four-day shopping hotspot.

In partnership with United Through Golf, the community development initiative at the Qatar Golf Academy, the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters will also offer family fun activities that demonstrate the positive health and social benefits of golf and encourage youngsters to take up the sport.
Hassan Al Nuaimi, President of the Qatar Golf Association, commented: “In 50 days’ time, the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters will tee off for four days of world-class golf and our biggest ever range of family entertainment. We have endeavored to ensure that this is an event for all the family and encourages budding golfers of all ages to take up the sport when they see the European Tour stars out on course.”

Abdullah Al Raisi, CEO of Commercial Bank added: “To help contribute to one of the most enjoyable weekends of the year for many families in Qatar is a privilege. Over the ten years of partnership with the tournament, we have been delighted to see growing numbers of visitors each year; it reflects the rising popularity of golf in the region and the wide variety of entertainment on offer.”
