2nd Abu Dhabi PGA Open at Yas Links

The 2nd Abu Dhabi PGA Open was held yesterday at Yas Links in excellent playing conditions for the assembled field.

The relative calm weather led to a good scoring pace on the front nine with Ryan Smith, Callum Nicoll and Malcolm Young all posting 1 under par scores after 9 holes with home professional Steven Morgan edging ahead on 2 under par through the front nine.

The back nine however proved tough for the whole field but with local knowledge to assist Yas Links Steven Morgan held on to post a 73 (+1) to take the title of 2011 Abu Dhabi PGA Open Champion.

With his win Steven jumps up from 54th in the OOM to the top 25 and with several players close to each other,  the competition for places in the Dubai Golf Trophy team will make the end of the season a little more interesting.

The full results, updated OOM and Patrons Cup “ Final Four” Standings are attached for your information.

Our sincere thanks go to the Chris White General Manager of Yas Links for his hospitality today and to his team led by Tom Rourke with Rob Turner and Steven Morgan assisting in running the event. The course was in excellent shape and a great venue for the event and I am sure we look forward to the opportunity to return once again to Yas Links.
