17 Pairs of Golfers to compete for the Daman Investments International Pairs UAE Final on friday

The Daman Investments International Pairs UAE Final takes place at the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club this Friday, and with nineteen teams vying for a place in the International Pairs World Final at the fabulous Hotel Denia Marriott La Sella Golf Resort & Spa on Spain’s Costa Blanca from 27th-30th October, competition is bound to be fierce. Since its inception seventeen years ago, more than 500,000 amateur golfers from all over the world have enjoyed competing in this exciting, friendly and hugely prestigious event. National winners are invited to compete in the 3-day International Pairs World Final program, a 36-hole, two-day competition, an unforgettable golfing occasion which is held every October and this year moves to Spain for the first time in the tournament’s history.

The International Pairs remains the largest amateur golf club and club members’ tournament of its kind in the world and continues to create World Club Champions, a title currently held by England. Mark Kelly & Luke Eustace, who represented Selby GC & England in 2014, won the title over the closing holes, against very tough competitors from South Africa and Spain, who finished second and third respectively.

Now in its fifth year in UAE, every golfer in UAE has the opportunity to compete in the Club Qualifiers which began at Yas Links on October 18th 2014 where the pairing of Ian Haywood & Elizabeth Campbell became the first to take their place in Friday’s final, ending just a couple of weeks ago at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club, where Friday’s field was completed by Chris Grimshaw & Peter Boase.

Another fifteen teams will be lining up at The Creek, and as Steve Rutter, COO of tournament promoters OnCourse Golf said “We are looking forward to a great day, and I can assure all the finalists that the World Final is something to really go for as last year’s UAE champions Neil and Yvette Heywood will confirm.”

Title sponsors Daman Investments have recently announced their continued support for 2015-16, and as Rutter says “We couldn’t wish for a more supportive title sponsor. Daman Investments has raised the profile of the UAE International Pairs, and we are delighted to have them on board again for 2016.”

AGMC – BMW have also recently announced their continued sponsorship for next year, and OnCourse Golf went out of their way to praise this year’s other support sponsors Taylormade, Mediclinic, Visa, Virgin Atlantic, Sport 360 and UAE Golf Online.
