UAE Invitational Scratch Golf League matchday 5 and 6 this weekend
This weekend sees Match Day 5 and Match Day 6 with a further 4 matches being played in the 2011 – 2012 UAE Invitational Scratch Golf League – today (Friday) Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club play Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
The Address Montgomerie, Dubai play Al Ghazal Golf Club and tomorrow (Saturday) Al Badia Golf Club play Al Ghazal Golf Club – the latter playing their second game of the weekend and in the final match Arabian Ranches Golf Club play Al Hamra / Tower Links Ras Al Khaimah.
After 4 Match Days the four Divisional Leagues are headed by The Els Club (League A), Sharjah Wanderers / Sharjah Shooting and Golf Club (League B), Al Ghazal Golf Club, Abu Dhabi (League C) and Yas Links, Abu Dhabi (League D).
The 12 team UAE Invitational Scratch League got under way in November 2011 with two Match Days in 2011 and the balance to date.
The format of the League is 8 players a side in fourball scratch matchplay played over 18 holes from the competition tees.
The winning teams in each match receive a win bonus of 2 points plus points according to the number of individual games won, losing teams only receive the points according to the number of games won and a drawn match results in each team receiving 3 league points.
Following the Round Robin First Round matches where all teams play 2 matches at home and two away the winners of the four Divisional Leagues will meet for Semi-Final matches with the respective winners going forward to the Grand Final Match to determine the 2011 – 2012 Invitational Scratch League champions.
