There was no easing off from the Al Hamra members as another fiercely contested club tournament produced some spectacular golf as the members battled for the top spot and the honour of seeing their name on the winners board for the 2011 Al Hamra Trophy.

The 36 hole two day event saw a strong field turn out to play for the chance to be crowned 2011 Club Champion.

The MMI sponsored Open Challenge Series once again attracted golfers from all over the UAE as this monthly event continues to grow in popularity.

The 16th of April 2011 saw Al Hamra Golf Club celebrate its Fourth Year Anniversary since opening and to mark the occasion the members took on the golf professionals in a Fourball Texas Scramble.

A solid first round 74 in very windy conditions set the foundations for Khalid Yousef to become the first player in the clubs history to retain the RAK Mens Amateur Open title against a strong field of competitors that contained some of the finest male golfers in the UAE.

It was a birthday double for the top spots in the Crans Sur Sierre Trophy as Hermes Frare and Nigel Beadle completed a one – two for the birthday boys!
