Organisers of the Tropheé Hassan II have extended a special invitation to Jake Shepherd, the winner of the inaugural MENA Golf Tour’s Order of Merit title, to compete in the European Tour event which was held at the magnificent Golf du Palais Royal, located inside the walls of the Royal Palace of Agadir in Morocco.

Sean McNamara closed with a 73 to finish in a tie for 61st place on one under, the best score by a MENA Golf Tour professional competing in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic which concluded at the Emirates Golf Club on Sunday.

Peter Richardson produced a mixed bag of shots en route to shooting back-to-back 71s on Saturday to keep alive his hopes of posting a decent middle-of-the-pack finish at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic at the Emirates Golf Club.

The second edition of the MENA Golf Tour will have six events, five in the UAE and one in Saudi Arabia, organisers of the region’s only full-fledged tour announced on Wednesday.

History was made and optimism reigned when Shaikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, chairman of the Arab Golf Federation, formally inaugurated the Tour at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, the venue of the Abu Dhabi Golf Citizen Open, on Monday.
