Groves Claims Monthly Medal at Al Badia Golf Club

Blustery and humid weather settled in on September 4, 2010, but these conditions did not impede the members of the Al Badia Golf Club to brave the heat for a challenging competition.

Mike Groves, a 14 handicapper, had a steady round with 1 birdie and 7 pars taking the lead with a total score of nett 68.

Division A winner was awarded to Mark Holmans who carded a score of nett 72 and defeated his closest competitor, Keith Nann who settled at a score of nett 66. Lynn Cimino took the honors in the B Division with a nett 73 with a blistering back nine of 3 over par somewhat ran out of steam but managed to hang on to take the division title. Rabih Sfeila was not able to match Cimino’s performance this time, as he settled in as a runner up finishing at nett 75.

Victors on the course competitions were; Brett Armstrong  in hole 9’s longest drive, Bill Buchanan in hole 17’s straightest drive, Mike Smith in hole 3’s nearest the pin and Tina Hasper in hole 11’s nearest the pin.
