The Al Dhafra Golf Links, a unique club in its own way, which is located in Ruwais, nearly 250km from Abu Dhabi, the capital of UAE. Visitors to the club can see Sir Baniyas Island, the home to rare wildlife in the distance.

The beautifully tended 18-hole, 5,754 yard par 72 sand course is located near the coast, alongside the Al Dhafra Beach Hotel and enjoys panoramic views over the Arabian Gulf and the nearby massive Oil refinery. The course was build to satisfy the thirst for golf which every dedicated member of the then construction team needed quelling! The grand opening was in 1988 - two years after the idea was first mooted.

As the only golf course in Al Gharbia, the western region of Abu Dhabi Emirate, the Al Dhafra Golf Links is mainly sponsored by the neighbouring oil companies and by organised events sponsored by companies in the locality.
