Club Car, the world’s largest manufacturer of four-wheel electric vehicles, has signed a major deal with Abu Dhabi Golf Club, home of the European Tour’s Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship.
The order confirmed Club Car’s leading position in the Middle East with prestigious clients including Jumeirah Golf Estates, The Montgomerie, Dubai, Jebel Ali Hotel & Golf Resort, Sahara Golf Course in Kuwait and host of the Emirates Airline Invitational, Yas Links.
Managed by Troon Golf, Abu Dhabi Golf Club has received its new fleet of 109 Club Car i2L Precedent vehicles, all fitted with the groundbreaking Visage GPS mobile golf information system.
Ken Kosak, Group General Manager of Troon Golf’s Abu Dhabi facilities, explained that as a world-leading club, its members and guests expect nothing but the best when they visit: “The choice for us was really very easy. Club Car is the epitome of comfort and durability within the golf industry.
“For the best product offering and golf car technology, Club Car stands out from the competition. Its Visage system allows our operators to monitor golf car movement in real-time, enabling them to manage both on- and off-course activity. It also helps effectively manage fleet maintenance requirements thanks to its data-capture and tracking functionality.

He continued: “Our guests are able to experience the latest in digital GPS technology – from 3D hole flyovers, accurate distance ranges and pin positions to messages about pace of play. Arming golfers with such detailed information gives them all they need to enjoy the course to the full and ultimately gives a superior playing experience for everyone.”
In addition to controlling where the golf cars go, Visage also allows course operators to slow the vehicles on steep inclines, stop them altogether and send messages to the golfers explaining why this has occurred, as well as prevent the cars from going into hazards, out of bound areas or anywhere out of the resort.
“Visage is the only system available that can control the engine of the cart in this way,” added Ken Kosak. “It truly helps protect the golf course and its assets.”
The 10-inch, user-friendly touch-screen system also comes complete with audio tips, designed to enhance the customer experience and generate increased rental income.
