Bernie bolts into the lead at the Al Ghazal Golf Club Abu Dhabi

The first of the Stableford Eclectic events was played at the Al Ghazal Golf Club on Friday 14th October, with the overall best score of 39 points being carded by Bernie Blanchard.

Blanchard scored 19 points on the front and 20 on the back securing a two points lead from Kevin Darroch who beat Joe Southam on count back with a better last three score of 7 points against 6.  The Best Lady category was won by Lady Captain Deborah Castle with 31 points.


Captains Peter McManus and Deborah Castle announced and distributed the prizes.


Next week’s event is the Airport Cup sponsored by Abu Dhabi Airports Company.  The event is a two day Stableford competition, with the overall winner being the one who scores the most points over two days.  The Airport Cup is one of the longest running events held at the Al Ghazal Golf Club.

Ramesh Emmanuel and Anina Bester winners of last year’s Airport Cup will be looking to defend their titles.
