A Close Call for Denis and Jahng at Al Badia Golf Club

March’s Officeland Monthly Medal proved to be an outstanding day of golf resulting in close scores for the Al Badia Golf Club members and guests.

Very windy and hazy conditions on the course made the competition even tougher as the players aimed to snatch a ticket to the finale of this prestigious series.

Following a betterball stableford format, the third place spot was awarded to the Al Badia Golf Club members Madhu Pillai and Sonny Gouri, who finished at 38 points. Only a count back separated the place getters of the day. The team of Sylvain Denis and M.S Jhang after finishing at 40 points saw them claim the overall winner title over the team of Gurbax Singh and Mansour Khodjasteh. Denis and Jhang, both played strongly in their back nine to make an amazing score of 23 points despite the challenging conditions.

Charles Kinniburgh won nearest the pin on hole 11, while Christian Burne secured hole 9’s longest drive prize.

As the Officeland Monthly Series is drawing closer to its end on April 1, the monthly qualifiers are looking forward to the much awaited final round, the opportunity to gain honours and reap the prizes on offer.
